The Road Less Traveled

HI!!!

WOW, it’s been a long time since I tried to type one of these suckers. (sorry btw)  Approximately 4 months I think. And since then, the phrase “the world is your oyster” has really been hitting me hard. Not in a bad way, just in a way where I’m realizing that there are so many possibilities and routes that I can take to get to the best me. To get to where the Lord wants me to be.

For most people, college is the usual route that you take when you’re my age. And you know, when I deferred from UNCW and began my race last year I fully intended on attending college this upcoming school year. Even up until month 7 of my World Race. But in India when I realized that there are SO many paths that I could take, I also realized that college wasn’t the right path. At least not yet. Because even though I want to go to college… I DO!!! I know that the right path is the path that the Lord has me on right now. Sometimes what I plan isn’t what the Lord has planned for me and when that is the case I just have to trust that he knows my desires. That his plan is perfect and that no other path is worth it. Even if it does sometimes seem like it takes longer or might be harder.

And in that way, I’ve been reminded of Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken. I won’t post the whole Poem, but the last stanza in particular stands out to me.

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”

Now I know that this poem has a little bit of different overall meaning, but I really feel like this stanza sums up a lot of what it’s like to follow the Lord’s will. Sometimes, following the road that the Lord has set out can feel like the unpopular route. The route that’s unpredictable, the route with more challenges, the route that is less travelled. But even when these arise, it’s still the route that holds favor. It’s the road that the Lord has equipped you for, without needing to fear because God has already promised that he’ll be with you in every step of the journey. That’s what makes all the difference.

And with that, I’ll always choose the road less traveled if it means that I’m living out God’s plan for me.

SOOO, where is the Lord leading me next???

Come tomorrow; actually, I will be leaving the beautiful state of NC to attend a 5 month discipleship program through Adventures in Missions in Gainesville, GA called Center for Global Action (CGA). I’m actually gonna paste their mission statement below to describe what I’ll be learning because I think it’s great!!!

“The Center for Global Action exists to mobilize a generation to be passionate followers of Jesus who live out their faith whether at home, professionally, or church planting overseas.”

So yeah, I like to think of it as Jesus school (: a program that’ll help me live out my passion for Christ.

Now in order to be an apprentice (that’s what all the students are called) fundraising is involved. Above you’ll see a “donate” button, and then to the right a bar that says that I need around $6,000. If you’d like to support my journey financially, I’d ask that you’d prayerfully consider donating. All donations would cover tuition and living and are TAX DEDUCTIBLE!!

I’m so humbled and blessed for the support I feel from the community. The Lord continues to blow me away with how He always, always knows every little detail. Below is my email address, I’d love to hear from y’all, get to know some of y’all that I don’t know all to well, and know how I can be praying for you!

With all the love and appreciation,

 Gabby
